Walk Local is committed to offering safe, quality, cultural tours in Italy.
These Terms and Conditions (“Booking Conditions”) govern the relationship between you (“the traveller”) and Walk Local. By booking a tour, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. They outline, among other things, our cancellation policy and limitations of liability. These terms affect your right to sue, governing law and jurisdiction; please be sure to carefully read these terms and make sure you understand your rights and obligations and our rights and obligations. It is a condition of travel that you are covered by comprehensive travel insurance. If you are arranging your own insurance, you must provide no later than 30 days prior to commencement of travel: a copy of your travel insurance policy (or details of master policy), the emergency telephone number of your insurance company, next of kin emergency contact.
Reservations and Payments
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of your tour cost is required to secure your reservation for this tour. Payment of your deposit indicates your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Final payment must be made in full to Walk Local three months prior to the start date. Every effort has been made to produce pricing information accurately however, we reserve the right to correct errors. Prices may be subject to change in the event of significant currency fluctuations or the introduction of new taxes, up until final payment is received. Tour prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD). Payments in other currencies will be calculated according to the exchange rate at the time of the payment.
Cancellations and Refunds
The Client may cancel the booking at any time in writing. Cancellation charges will be applied.
The 10% Deposit is non-refundable.
- Refund within 3 months of Tour Start Date – 50% of tour cost.
- Refund within 1 month of Tour Start Date – no refund.
Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies, illness, or weather.
Please note that we do not make any refunds for any unused portion of your trip.
Medical Issues
If you have any medical issues you must advise us in writing, at or prior to booking, of any physical, emotional or mental condition, which may require professional attention during the trip or may require the use of special equipment. If you fail to disclose any such conditions, Walk Local may refuse to allow you to take the trip and you will forfeit the trip cost; and in such an event we shall have no liability, financial or otherwise.
If you are so challenged, you must bring and be responsible for all necessary items related to your condition. If any such condition arises after the trip is booked, you must advise us in writing immediately. Failure to advise us shall release Walk Local and all professional personnel from any liability related to such condition or its treatment.
Health and Fitness
Your health and safety during your tour is our first concern. You should be in good health to participate in our Italy walking tours.
Walk Local reserves the right to decline any tour participant whose condition, in our opinion, may affect the health, safety or enjoyment of other participants.
Walk Local is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment you may require during the trip. Walk Local is not responsible for the quality of medical care, or lack thereof, you may receive while on the trip. The purchase of a travel insurance plan, which protects your travel investment, your belongings and most importantly you, from those unforeseen circumstances that may arise before or during your trip, is mandatory.
Passports, Visas and Vaccinations
It is the responsibility of the traveller to be in possession of a valid passport, visa permits, inoculations and preventative medicines as may be required for the duration of the tour. Information about these matters or related items is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of Walk Local.
Responsibility
The responsibility of Walk Local is strictly limited. As a tour operator, Walk Local organises, promotes, and sells tour programmes consisting of certain travel services, including transportation, sight-seeing excursions, and Walk Local purchases or reserves from various suppliers (collectively, “Suppliers”). The Suppliers providing travel services for Walk Local tour programmes are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Walk Local.
As such, Walk Local is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any Supplier or of any third party. Some tours may include visits to shops and merchants. Walk Local is not responsible for any purchases you make during your trip, whether that merchant is part of the scheduled itinerary or not. By utilising the travel services of the Suppliers, you agree that you will look to such Suppliers for any accident, injury, property damage, or personal loss to you or to those travelling with you and that neither Walk Local nor any representative of Walk Local shall be liable.
Without limitation, Walk Local is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, delay or inconvenience in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from – but not limited to – acts of God or force majeure, pandemics, acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, strikes or other labour activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of accommodations, mechanical or other failure of aeroplanes or other means of transportation or for the failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time, sanitation problems, lack of medical care, or for any other cause beyond the direct control of Walk Local.
Covid-19
If you cannot travel on a Walk Local trip due to new COVID-19 restrictions before you depart, whether at a local, state, national or international level, then we will hold your booking as a full credit for future use with a window of up to two years.
Photography
Walk Local reserves the right to take photographic, video, or film records of any of its tours, including guests, and to use any such photographic, video, or film records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.
Applicable Law
This relationship shall be governed by the laws of the State of South Australia.
Privacy Policy
Walk Local is committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect on our sites to make our service the best they can be and to enhance your overall experience. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.

Tours in Australia
Reservations and Payments
Payment of the tour is to be paid in full at the time of booking. By making payment, you acknowledge you agree with the Terms and Conditions provided on this website.
Every effort has been made to produce pricing information accurately. We reserve the right to correct errors.
Changes in Plans
Up to 30 days prior to departure, you may transfer your reservation, depending on availability, from one departure date to another (on the same itinerary, in the same calendar year) at no cost.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing and fees are applied as noted. Cancellation refunds will be calculated as of the date we receive your written cancellation. All payments for travel services not provided to the guest will be refunded in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with Walk Local’s cancellation policy. Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies, illness, or weather.
Escorted Tours
- Cancellations received on or before 30 days prior to the start of the trip: 25% loss of trip price.
- Cancellations received 30 to 15 days prior to the start of the trip: 50% loss of trip price.
- Cancellations received 15 or fewer days prior to the start of the trip: no refund

We will send you information on the physical requirements for your trip with your pre‐trip materials. In some cases, you may want to discuss these with your doctor. Your health and safety during your trip are our first concern. You should be in good health to participate in our active vacations.

The Suppliers providing travel services for Walk Local tour programs are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Walk Local.

The Activity
Walk Local advises that the activity may include without limitation the following risks:
Walking along roads, paths and open terrain, slipping and falling objects, cliffs, variable and difficult weather conditions, hypothermia, avalanches, the negligence of self and/or other Activity participants, and suffering any type of accident including illness in remote areas without easy access to medical facilities.
The inexperience of yourself and the inexperience of other participants.
The dangers of wildlife causing direct damage to yourself but also resulting in erratic behaviour by yourself and other participants.
Price Changes
Walk Local reserves the right to correct promotional or pricing errors at any time, or to increase the program price in the event of cost increases due to changes in accommodations, currency fluctuations, park fee increases or local taxes. Walk Local reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any tour or to cancel or alter the tour without notice, in which event your sole remedy shall be a prorated refund for any unused portion of the trip. Hotels and other accommodation prices are subject to change.
Photographs, etc.
Walk Local reserves the right to take photographic, video, or film records of any of its tours, including guests, and to use any such photographic, video, or film records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.
Applicable Law
This relationship shall be governed by the laws of the State of South Australia. Any claims against Walk Local must be brought in the Federal or State Courts located in the State of South Australia, to the exclusion of the Courts of any other state and country.
